Getting a little braver every day

Getting a little braver every day

I have been walking around with vegan stickers on my things for a while now... wondering if they actually do anything.

At first, I felt uncomfortable and self-conscious. And a bit passive-aggressive.

But over time, I became a little bolder.

Now I take my bottle almost everywhere. Cafés. Libraries. The train. My daughter's activities. I'll leave it on the table instead of hiding it in my bag.

Sometimes I catch people reading the stickers. Sometimes they smile. Sometimes they ask questions. Sometimes they chuckle. Sometimes they glare.

Most of the time... nothing happens at all.
Or at least, nothing that I get to see.

And that's what fascinates me.

How many tiny thoughts or conversations might one sticker start over its lifetime?

Maybe a child asks their parent what it means. (I’ve heard that happening.)
Maybe someone who's vegan feels a little less alone. (I know I would.)
Maybe someone who's never thought much about veganism pauses for five seconds.

I'll never know.

But I keep coming back to the idea that change doesn't always have to be loud. Sometimes it's just about quietly making an idea a little more visible.

Do you think small everyday acts like this can make a difference?
