What if making veganism more visible didn't require saying a word?

I was at an indoor playground with my daughter.
She was playing, I was doodling. As always, I had my water bottle with me. As always, it had a vegan sticker on it.
A little boy noticed it.
"What does that sticker mean?" he asked his mother.
She looked at it.
Then she looked at me.
And well, she didn't seem so thrilled. She kinda glared at me.
Yet I hadn't said a word to anyone.
I hadn't handed anyone a flyer.
I hadn't started a debate.
I hadn't tried to convince anybody of anything.
All I did was existing in public with a message on my water bottle.
And yet, one small sticker created a conversation that wouldn't have happened otherwise.
That's what fascinates me about stickers.
They don't interrupt people.
They just quietly wait to be noticed.
Sometimes they spark curiosity.
Sometimes they make people smile.
Sometimes they make people uncomfortable.
But every now and then, they make someone stop and think.
And I think that's far more powerful than we give them credit for.
