30 minutes at a time.

30 minutes at a time.

For 7 weeks last year, I was house-sitting in New Hampshire.

We got a temporary YMCA family membership, and about four times a week I'd drop my daughter off at their childcare for two hours.

Two whole child-free hours!!!

I had a system.

30 minutes swimming.
30 minutes in the gym.
And whatever time was left, I'd sit in the YMCA lobby with my laptop and work on Vegan The Sticker.

That's actually how a lot of this project gets built.

In little pockets of time.

30 minutes here.
20 minutes there.
An hour, sometimes.

Designing a sticker while my daughter is at an activity.
Answering emails from my phone.
Working on the website from a random lobby.
Packing orders from my home.

Sometimes I look at Vegan The Sticker and think about how slowly I'm building it.

But then I think about all those tiny windows of time. Individually, they don't seem like much.

But apparently, if you keep stacking 30 minutes on top of 30 minutes, eventually they turn into something real.

This can be true for activism too.

Maybe we don't need enormous amounts of time or huge actions to contribute something.

Maybe we just use the little pieces of time and space we already have.

One small action at a time.

One little ripple at a time.

And if your little action happens to be carrying a vegan message around with you, I've got plenty to choose from. 🌱
