Why Stickers Matter: The Power of Subtle Advocacy

Making Veganism Visible

When I started making vegan stickers a few years ago, it was simply because I felt like it. There wasn’t a grand vision at first—just a creative outlet. But as I became more involved in designing, selling, and using them, I realized their true potential. Stickers are a fantastic medium for advocacy.

Imagine a world where every vegan is recognizable as a vegan—not just through their lifestyle but visually, in a way that inspires curiosity and connection. That’s why I started incorporating other forms of visible vegan advocacy into my life, like wearing shirts and hats with vegan messages. And yes, I always have my sticker-covered water bottle with me.

Breaking the Stigma

I know what some of you might be thinking: "I don’t want to be that vegan." The one people call preachy or annoying. Many of us work hard to counter that stereotype, waiting to talk about veganism only when asked. But let’s be honest—how often does someone ask? Veganism isn’t tattooed on our heads (though shoutout to The Bodybuilding Vegan who did!).

That’s where stickers come in. They’re a gentle yet impactful way to share the message without being confrontational. They make veganism visible, spark curiosity, and create opportunities for meaningful conversations—on your terms.

A Growing Community

Veganism is estimated to include 1-2% of the global population—about 78 to 156 million people. Imagine the potential if even a fraction of us used stickers as tools for advocacy. They help us recognize each other, strengthen our community, and inspire those who are vegan-curious.

Not everyone is vegan for the animals, but if you are, you probably want to see a world where animals aren’t harmed. Spreading the message is essential, and stickers provide a non-invasive way to do it. Whether you prefer subtle designs or bold statements, my collection offers a range of options, with more on the way.

The Power of Words

I believe words are powerful. They carry energy and have a tangible impact on the world. By walking around with words like vegan, cruelty-free, and plant-based, we’re creating visibility and planting seeds of awareness. It’s like turning ourselves into living billboards, amplifying the vegan message in a way that’s accessible and effective.

Think about the free advertising we give to companies like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts when we carry their cups. What if we reclaimed that ad space for something meaningful? What if we used it to inspire change?

Beautifying the World With Veganism

Stickers are also a form of grassroots activism. By placing them in strategic locations, especially in densely populated areas, we can plant tiny seeds of awareness everywhere. It’s a low-key but powerful way to contribute to the movement.

I deeply admire the people who participate in more direct forms of activism, like the Cube of Truth or people who run animal sanctuaries. However, not everyone has the time, resources, or desire to be involved at that level. Stickers offer an alternative—a simple yet effective way to do more than just eat vegan.
